Abstraction

Around The Bend was influenced by an artwork I saw in a magazine consisting of a set of curved figures in different colours on a white background. I felt it would work well on a more complex background and I’d recently been experimenting with flicking paint onto the canvas using an old toothbrush which gave a matt stone-like effect, so I combined these. My final change to the original was to make the arcs a glossy finish to create a juxtaposition of very random, matt effect, background to very precise glossy foreground features.

An acrylic painting of this lovely beach on the beautiful north coast of Cornwall. Chapel Porch is near the village of St.Agnes. Spring Day

Abstract acrylic featuring shapes, perhaps figures. I like to think we have advocates among us, those looking out for our good.

Inspired by the image of Hekate on the great altar of Pergamon, now in the Pergamon Museum in Germany. The altar displays the Gigantomachy, the battle between the Gods and the Titans, where Hekate stood on the side of Zeus, and killed the giant Clytios. This has been painted over a silver and gold acrylic pour.

This one reminds me of starlight and butterfly wings, for some reason.

This is an illustration I created for my Great Nephew and he is great despite he is almost 3 years old at the time of writing this. It is an image i wanted to paint to celebrate his birth and all the the optimism that lays ahead of him, with all the symbols of things that I think he may like.
