Havana Black And White It almost seems a shame to convert any photo of Havana in to a black and white as there is so much color in almost any scene you care to take in this vibrant city. Having said that, I think this image lets you take in all the detail of the scene including the cars and the colonial Caribbean architecture without the distractions of colour. This Neoclassical structure was completed between 1861 and 1874, and is based on the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C. The west facade ends in projecting bays, and a portico projects from the center of the building. At the base of the portico, seven granite archways brace and support the porch above. Eight fluted Corinthian columns line the portico. A cornice supports the pediment above depicting Minerva surrounded by Education, Justice, and Mining. Above the flat roof with balustrade are two drums supporting a dome. The first drum consists of a colonnade of Corinthian columns; the second, Corinthian pilasters. The majestic Mt Fuji, in the Honshu prefecture of Japan. a cable car ride from Lake Fujikawaguchi provided me with this incredible view of the monolithic volcano, and the additional gift of an eagle soaring high above the landscape. The beauty of Fuji is that it is a stand alone mountain. The land all around it falls to the ground, making it view able 360 degrees all around.

So maybe it's a ball she's holding, not a balloon, but I just like the title better that way.

After selling my condo I began traveling. I landed for a while in Nova Scotia which stole my heart. This was taken while exploring there.

Thinking about the works and looking back at techniques of old masters ~ those that excelled in Black and White and wanting to replicate using modern full frame 35mm DSLR technology - I created this 'olde worldy' piece... of Dolbadarn Castle from across the lake. The almost completely obsolete technique of photo format single lens reflex camera work conducted by the masters is very seldom implemented now ~ due to the advent of the much simpler and quicker digital single lens reflex cameras... Yet, it is often nice to reflect and try to emulate some of the techniques which were so diligently adhered to by those masters of the past... Taken with 35mm format full frame A7 SONY ~ modern camera.
