Two Grypocoris beetles use their piercing mouthparts called a 'labium' - to suck and feed off the sap of wild campion blossom.

As I walked through the forest and out to a clearing my eye was attracted to the pretty and delicate pinks of this wild campion and the forest pattern beneath which caught my eye. It just seemed so perfect by design ~ wondering about how it might translate in post - I was pleasantly pleased to see that the focus blur created by in camera technique due to depth of field and hyperfocal distance of the lens... worked better than I first anticipated. There was very little for me to modify in post ~ just to balance the image - and I am very happy with it... The lush green watery 'wild forest of Wales'
