Photograph Herdwick sheep were thought to be introduced by Norse-Irish settlers in the 10th & 11th centuries, there are also tales of the breed being brought here on shipwrecked from the Spanish Armada. The ancient norse for sheep farm was "Herd-Vic", the word "Herdwyck" means sheep pasture and can be found in documents dating back to the 12th century. These sheep were originally bred for their tough wiry wool which can create garments which repel rain and outlive many softer yarns but their wool is sheer purgatory for the hands of the knitter. Found in front of an old wall of the Bishop's Castle in Burgliebenau, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The sunflower has grown wild and defies the pressure of the centuries-old history of the crumbling wall of this once important castle on the road to Leipzig.

This Fantasy Fairy Princess Castle features a beautiful pink castle with lots of towers for lost princesses. Great for wearing to a princess birthday party with cake, candles, gifts, and songs.

In support of the national health service NHS and the good work they do, a set up of colourful lights representing the rainbow of support which means that 'everyone is equal - and deserves to be treated with compassion and respect' was displayed against the Caernarfon Castle... At sunset, late in the evening - I took this capture.

Bamburgh Castle stand proudly on the Northumberland coastline of England. Often the subject of sunrise images, it attracts many visitors throughout the summer months. Here the castle is shown at night, lit in yellow light and reflected in the wet sands.

During the balmy May weather I spend a few late evenings down by the old slate quay looking out across the estuary for the right time to take a colourful water and colour reflection shot... I used vintage glass shot wide open at f/2.0 producing quite a narrow depth of field but maximum light through aperture and with full frame camera focus peaking and focus magnifier to focus as best as can for the Jupiter lens I was using at such shallow depth of field... In doing so producing a softer more subtle - less stark effect to this silhouette of the Caernarfon Castle and surrounding boats... I imagine this framed on archival type watercolour paper for best effect... Something I will endeavour to do over time for my home... :-)
