Description: This is my painting with a view overlooking the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park. This is the largest hot spring in the U.S. I painted it with acrylics and watercolors plus added salt for the special effects in the water. The bright, vivid colors in the spring are the result of microbial mats around the edges of the mineral-rich water.

Description: Onsen(温泉) is Japanese hot spring. Those natural thermal baths are not just our favorite, but also beloved by mountain monkeys! Check out Jigoku-dani Onsen in Nagano where these monkeys enjoy a relaxing bath especially during the winter season.
