It had rained most of the morning. This was the first time the clouds rose high enough to see Elephant Butte, off to the right. Fifteen minutes later the rain came through again and obscured the view to the point where you couldn't even see the mittens. Dramatic weather only serves to enhance the view of Monument Valley in northern Arizona.

At just the right time, on just the right day, under just the right conditions, one can catch a dramatic Glow in Monument Valley, Arizona.

This is a shot of the Totem Pole in Monument Valley, Arizona. Taken at sunrise from the Sand Springs on a frozen December morning. You, and your guide, have to get up pretty early to get this one.

The Valley Forge Memorial Arch was built to commemorate the arrival of George Washington and his troops of the Continental Army at Valley Forge. The Continental Army arrived in December of 1777 and for six long months the soldiers endured numerous hardships until they broke camp in June 1778.

Silly geology pun makes for a fun tee for an earth scientist or geologist,

Seeking Redemption is inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2 but uses Monument Valley as a backdrop.

It is 1.7 miles from the junction of US Highway 163 and Monument Valley Tribal Park Road, to the Entrance Station of Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. At times traffic can flow slowly, as the herd of motor homes and cars in front of you lumber up, one at a time, to pay their entrance fee. The eye wanders, as you wait, because the west end of that eastbound Winnebago in front of you is just not that picturesque. What catches your eye is this, the view out your left side window, of mesas, buttes and pinnacles with names like Stagecoach, Big Chief, and Eagle, among others. This scene is just a taste of what you're waiting to see, making that wait seem just a little too long.
