The sculpture of Tommy 1101 a First World War soldier, sits, head bowed on the seafront of Seaham Harbour. Before him, is a large poppy made from pebbles taken from the local beach and painted by children. Here the image has been converted to black and white and the colour re-introduced to the pebbles to show the effect of the poppy. Jandía is a peninsula in the southwestern part of the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. The peninsula is entirely in the municipality of Pájara. Within the peninsula is Fuerteventura's tallest mountain, Pico de Jandía or Pico de la Zarza, that rises to an elevation of 807 m. Jandía is connected with the rest of Fuerteventura through the isthmus Istmo de la Pared. Most of the peninsula has been a nature reserve (Parque Natural de Jandía) since 1987.

TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS

Jesmond Dene is located on the outskirts of Newcastle Upon Tyne City Centre. Through the dene flows a small river known as Ouseburn. The dene itself is in a narrow valley with steep sides enclosing it. The Ouseburn flows to meet the River Tyne. The name Jesmond means mouth of the Ouseburn. Within the dene are a number of water features - ponds, weirs, rapids and waterfalls, all created by Lord Armstrong in order to bring a sense of movement to the Ouseburn. Warkworth Castle is a ruined medieval building in the town of the same name in the English county of Northumberland. The town and castle occupy a loop of the River Coquet, less than a mile from England's north-east coast.

Two rowing boats pulled up onto the shoreline of St Mary's Loch. The loch is the largest natural loch in the Scottish Borders and is situated between Selkirk and Moffat in the beautiful Yarrow valley.

The Hen Hole is a gorge cut into the hillside surrounding the College Valley in Northumberland, England. It is said that you can still get "snow eggs" in summer, as the sun never reaches into the bottom of the gorge. Running down through the gorge is the College Burn, tumbling as a series of waterfalls.

Cauldron Snout is a very impressive series of falls. Falling over 100 ft in a series of 5 falls that follow in very quick succession at very low flows and which merge into one mass of white water at higher flows. It is located on the upper reaches of the River Tees in Northern England, immediately below the dam of the Cow Green Reservoir. Canon 5D Mkiii, 24-105 L series lens

Bamburgh Sunrise

Sunrise over Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland. Once home to the kings of ancient Northumbria, Bamburgh Castle is one of Northumberland's most iconic buildings. The Bamburgh castle we see today is a relatively recent structure, but the castle boasts a much longer history. There have been settlements on the site since prehistoric times

The fells around the Duddon Valley are little walked by the masses. One of the most beautiful valleys in the Lake District is criss-crossed with paths, but these tracks belong to the sheep. A beautiful place to explore and some wonderful sights to discover. Here the gateway opens to Ulpha Fell and in the distance The Pike O' Blisco.

The iconic Bamburgh Castle, a photographers favourite location. This time trying something to give a different viewpoint. A New years Day walk along the coast and a view of the castle as it appears through the grass and sand.

Ashness Bridge close to Derwentwater in the Lake District is an iconic packhorse bridge that is a draw for photographers and tourists alike. Here the bridge is shown in its more often taken viewpoint, caught after a heavy rain storm with the stream flowing strongly.
