The rose-ringed parakeet is native to Africa and South Asia but was introduced to many other parts of the world as a pet. In Hawai’i it exists since the late 1960s.

Earth from Saturn, Cassini image. Earth is the point of light at centre, with the Moon to its left. Some of the rings of Saturn are visible above and below Earth. At top is the A ring, with the Keeler and Encke gaps visible, and the F ring at bottom. The distance to Earth is 1.4 billion kilometres. Saturn is a large gas giant planet, with a ring system that consists of thousands of chunks of rock and ice. This image was obtained on 12 April 2017 by Cassini's Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS). The Cassini spacecraft has been surveying the Saturnian system since 2004, with its mission scheduled to end in September 2017.

I've been very lucky and privileged to work so closely to this superb specimen ~ the King of all dragonflies by its sheer immense size compared to almost all others... The majestic and brilliantly coloured Golden Ringed Dragonfly. The female is the UKs *longest dragonfly* because of her long ovipositor.

Adelie Penguin, Pygoscelis adeliae, on the fast ice at Cape Adare, Ross Sea, Antarctica. This little penguin is on its way from the rookery across 2-3 kilometres of fast ice to get to the sea so it can bring back food for its chicks. The colony at Cape Adare is one of the biggest Adelie colonies in the Antarctica. As Global Warning increases the fate of Antarctic fauna may very well be compromised. Canon EOS, zoom lens. This beautiful and stunning large long dragonfly has bright green eyes which meet and join together on the top of its head. Almost like wearing a pair of cool shades and clinging to a bramble bud like an MC on the mic! Who knows maybe these insects do some beat box in the morning...!?!? TUNE !!! For certain these wonderful creatures warm their bodies in the early morning sunlight which energises their day - I kinda know the feeling!?!

Looking stylish and handsome this golden ringed dragonfly basks in the early morning sun warming its exoskeleton and blood capillaries for a days predatory hunt on the wing.

Traces of gases such as ammonia and methane are also present. Its ring system is mostly made up of millions of orbiting chunks of ice. It is the second largest planet in the solar system (behind Jupiter), and has a diameter of around 120,000 kilometres. It is around 95 times heavier than Earth. This image was taken from a distance of 43 million kilometres on 12th July 1981.

Saturn's rings at equinox, Cassini image. Saturn is a gas giant planet with an extensive ring system that extends outwards for tens of thousands of kilometres. Equinoxes occur every 15 Earth years (twice every Saturn year) when the Sun passes directly overhead at the planet's equator. This results in objects such as its moons casting long shadows not seen at other times. Here, the small moon Epimetheus (113 kilometres across) is at bottom centre, casting the shadow at lower centre. This mosaic of images was obtained on 8 June 2009, by the wide-angle camera on the orbiting Cassini spacecraft.

Saturn silhouetted. Cassini spacecraft image of Saturn and its ring system with the Sun directly behind. The view revealed two previously unknown rings. One, associated with the orbits of the moons Janus and Epimetheus, lies in between the outer edge of the bright main rings and the thin grey/brown G Ring. The other, associated with the orbit of the moon Pallene, lies just inside the broad and diffuse outer E ring. Earth is seen as a bright dot at the ten o'clock position between the bright main rings and the G Ring. This is a composite of 165 images taken at infrared, visible light and ultraviolet wavelengths by the Cassini spacecraft on 15th September 2006, while it was around 2.2 million kilometres from Saturn.
