Learned that Van Gogh got inspired by woodblock prints from Japan when making the "Starry Night" piece so it is fitting to make my own version of it in ukiyo-e esthetics. That is why the Great Wave and Starry Night resonates to me so much! The broken lines, swirls and repeated fast strokes is eminent in these two masterpieces.

Wanted to create an artwork using vintage Japanese woodblock print and I drew a cat resting in a kintsugi bowl. Makes a great gift for Japanese style art lovers!
