Ink, gouache and digital. ‘Shaolin Chi Gong’ portrays a Buddhist monk practicing chi gong, or energy work. This form of exercise is characteristic of Shaolin Kung fu training and meditation. The Shaolin Temple, which is in the Henan province, China, was founded in the 5th century CE. It is the birthplace of Zen martial arts practices.

This is design for all those people interested in the internal arts, Chinese philosophy and/or yogic practices. This version of the yin-yang was designed by me many years ago for my taijiquan class t-shirts. I added the butterflies as I felt that it conjured up the characteristics of lightness, calmness and evasiveness. [Image is distressed in order to give it more of a "worn" look]

A qi gong, tai chi inspired clothing design incorporating the yin yang symbol. Like much of my work this is inspired by nature and the patterns of traditional architecture and fabric design, I try and bring a freshness and brightening feel to traditional subjects.

Taijiquan or shadow boxing is a Chinese martial art from Asia. Tai Chi Chuan is often practiced in a silk suit or even a sword. Goat with this motive that you love Thai Chi for beginners as a martial art.
