Description: Charles Mackintosh, 1868 - 1928, Scottish architect, designer and artist, husband to Margaret Macdonald. Both famous Art Nouveau, Symbolist artists from the last century. Featured here, 'The Wassail' is an image of the original gesso wall frieze made for a ladies tearoom. Gesso was applied over stretched hessian giving it a textured look with earthy colours. His wife, Margaret was commissioned at the same time to do a very similar panel which was also hung in the tearoom labelled, 'The May Queen'.
Description: Alphonse Mucha 1860 - 1939, painter and illustrator living in Paris during the Art Nouveau period. He was known for his distinct colourful decorative posters. The 'Four Seasons' poster shown here visually describes each season with four different drawings of women adorned appropriately for the season they represent.
Description: Terry the Ghoul is a little bit confused but means well. Well, maybe he meant "make war not art"... that's not right... "make art not war", yeah that's it! Haha, this design is inspired by the current month, October, or known to artists as Inktober. It's a wonderful time of the year dedicated to art, creativity and often creepy and spooky things related to Halloween. Terry loves to be creative and often paints portraits in blood, but he's kinda shy to show them to the world. Naturally, he's wearing the inverted bonetagram shirt and is being his cheerful self!
Description: A black and white kitten sits against a vibrant background of yellow and blue, reminiscent of Vincent Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' style. The kitten's fur patterns seamlessly blend into the swirls and dotted motifs of the surrounding abstract landscape.
