Pastel 50 x 70cm on black Canson Mitientes Tex paper In Sep 2017 a bushfire started on a ridge in the State forest near our place. A wind change caused the fire to move down the hill & threaten the properties bordering the forest. Our local Rural Fire Service started a backburn from the dirt road up the hill to stop the bushfire. The backburn took out 20 years worth of undergrowth - we could actually see the bike trails & contours of the hill near our house! In Dec 2019 - two & a bit years later, with very little rain, the bracken, grasses, sapplings etc have barely recovered.

Bush fire can cause confusion and chaos in its wake, many Native animals trying to survive the flames are set upon by predators awaiting.

Pastel on A4 size Art Spectrum Colourfix paper - dark blue Late Oct & into November 2019, the Mid North Coast of NSW had large bushfires burning out 500 million hectares & destroying habitat for koalas, platypus & many other native animals. Nearly 500 homes were destroyed & tragically 3 lives were lost. This was one of the sunset views during the fires near Bonny Hills & Lake Cathie

“I Love Australia”. I made this design to help support the animals effected by the Australian bushfires (2019/2020). All of my profit (20% of the price) made by this design will be donated to Zoos Victoria. Zoos Victoria is an Australian non-profit organization that provides emergency veterinary care, refuge for homeless animals, and are working on habitat restoration projects.

I made this poster from a portion of an acrylic painting I did immediately after the Ash Wednesday Fires in South Australia, fires during which so much of South Australia went up in flames. The 2019 and 2020 fires were dreadful especially for our wildlife. We must act now to slow climate change and make sure we leave Australia's coal in the ground, so that we do not contribute to making the situation worse for our country and our planet.
