This is a skeksis concept for what they could look like in a modern version of the film. Maybe a part 2. I am a huge fan of The Dark Crystal and wanted to do something that was just different then all the usual fantasy illustrations.

Original 8x11in water color pen and ink on 140lbs paper. This is a dark piece and not my normal work of art. I came across a black and white civil war photo on the internet. It affected me profoundly. Why? The image triggered a memory of my tour in the US Navy 1987. We must never forget those that have sacrificed for us!
