Digital Watch Tank Tops

Description: A vintage-style athlete (reminiscent of old photographs of wrestlers or circus strongmen) drags a massive pocket watch on a thick metal chain, as if it were a heavy kettlebell or shackles. White, crossed-out scribbles over his eyes create the effect of a blind, intuitive movement forward. He wanders through a desolate sandy landscape against the backdrop of a huge, faded disc of the sun (or moon) and a torn lilac paper strip. This is a powerful image of the burden of time, the struggle against fleeting moments, perseverance, and how we drag the weight of the past or our obligations behind us. The olive-pastel background lends the work a deep, noble melancholy.
