Dionysus, also called Bacchus, in Greco-Roman religion, a nature god of fruitfulness and vegetation, especially known as a god of wine and ecstasy.

I made this drawing after a 4th century BC Greek amphora displayed at the Martin von Wagner Museum - Würzburg, Germany.

To enjoy wine is to celebrate life. And the classic Roman god of wine was Bacchus, who was also known as Dionysus in ancient Greece. Let's drink to him!

Demeter had a kind and beautiful daughter, called Persephone, who she loved very much. Persephone is a goddess, Demeter's daughter by Zeus, wife of Hades, and queen of the underworld. Her most important myth is that of her abduction by Hades, her father's brother. In Orphic literature, she is Dionysus' mother by Zeus.

This bacchanalia scene was developed from a print in L'ornement Polychrome (1888) by Albert Racinet.

I reproduced a 5th century BC Greek drinking cup freaturing Bacchus, the god of wine, shaking grapevines to harvest the grapes he needs to make wine.

This design is a part of a thematic design challange. The challange not only restricts the use of color in the design but also the elements in the composition; a statue, vibrant colors and hypnosis.

Semele was a character in greek mythology, mother to Dionysus with Zues being her lover. She is a priestess and was never on Mount Olympus, but she probably could be if she tried!
