This was made in honor of our veterans and the 100th anniversary of Veterans Day in 2918. Based on a MerMonday challenge, I drew up this mermaid in uniform for Veteran's Day. The whole composition is based on World War II detail – the outfit was based on the Andrew Sisters’ look, the woman’s look was based on a late aunt who did her part in World War II, and the whole look was inspired by WWII art. All proceeds shall go to the Rosie the Riveter museum, a non-for-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the lives and histories of American civilians working during World War II and the significance behind the iconic Rosie the Riveter icon.
