The insanely blue waters of Lake Tekapo and the mountains beyond. The lake gets its colour from suspended 'rock flour' ground up by the Godley Glacier that feeds the lake. This also happened to be the view we had out the bedroom window in our holiday house in Tekapo (although it should be noted that this was taken with a telephoto to avoid the houses on the other side of the road from us).

In South Africa if you are Gatvol that means in Afrikaans you are fed up and generally in a grumpy mood. The year 2020 has been a heavy dose of inconvenience even for our pets must be getting sick of it, especially felines.

It's unbelievable how blue Lake Pukaki is from afar...but once you actually stand in the lake, as I was doing here, it's so clear it seems that you can see for miles underwater.

I may not have been at Moraine Lake at the perfect time of day for photography (sunrise) but the view across it and the Valley of the Ten Peaks from the top of the Rockpile was still stunning.

Horned cattle - A rare sight these days: We spotted a whole herd in the Espinhaço de Cão mountains (Serra de Espinhaço de Cão) including this beautiful cow and her calf in the Algarve, Portugal in April 2018. The cows all had bells too! Since the land was unfenced and graded into forests I guess the bells are needed for herding. Canon EOS 60D DSLR
