Kochs Tank Tops
Description: The original Fred Koch Brewery was a small, independent brewery in Dunkirk, New York that produced beer and ale from late 1888 until 1985. Production peaked in the early 1950s with over 100,000 barrels brewed annually. When the Dunkirk, New York brewery was closed in 1985, it was located at 15-25 West Courtney Street. The Genesee Brewing Company currently owns the trademark rights to the name Fred Koch Brewery, but it is not producing any products under the Koch's name. Note added 9/1/18: A non-alcoholic beer "Penn's Best" is currently available and is labeled Fred Koch Brewing Co, Rochester NY.
Description: Introduced in 1938 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fred Koch Brewery in Dunkirk, New York, Koch’s Golden Anniversary Beer became a popular staple. Due to high demand, it continued production after its initial anniversary run. The beer is characterized as a light-bodied, crisp, and slightly sweet lager, featuring a traditional, clean finish.
Description: Rendered on a deep dark background, this artwork presents four numbered circles showing bacteria, a pure culture, a syringe and re-isolated bacteria, illustrating the four steps of Koch's postulates. The German physician Robert Koch identified the bacteria behind tuberculosis (1882) and cholera. His postulates set out the criteria for proving that a specific microbe causes a specific disease. A gift idea for physicians, nurses and medical students, and a thoughtful piece for a practice, office or study.
