It's hard to miss the Bluff when you arrive in Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. It's very prominent and can be seen from all over the area. The Bluff is also a famous geological landmark. The headland is granite that came from deep in the earth's crust about 500 million years ago. The boulders that sit on top of the Bluff were carried there by ice and the smooth shape of the Bluff's profile was also caused by ice erosion. In winter a barrel pruner comes to the vineyard to take off the long stems. It makes it easier to hand prune the vines every season. To see more vineyard, wine making, grape designs see the collection in my shop.

The curved legs on a piano which was in our vineyard for a while. It decomposed.

Vintage is a critical time of the year.Years work goes into producing fruit. Its always a miraculous transformation when the nets go on. Pre vintage we have to save our fruit from bird strike!
