I am constantly under the watchful eye of Big Brother and am expected to follow the Party's doctrine without question. I live in a world of fear, mistrust, and paranoia, where the government controls every aspect of my life.

Something strange happened in the last 15 years - "Big Brother" got semi-privatized, and everyone decided it was trendy. We've gone from fearing being watched to inviting it. Strange. Credit goes to my old friend Jeremy for the initial idea on this one.

Charrington's Junk Shop is a fictional store from George Orwell's novel 1984. It was a junk shop, that was a former pawn shop, and it now sells junk and antiques. "But he lingered for some minutes more, talking to the old man, whose name, he discovered, was not Weeks — as one might have gathered from the inscription over the shop-front — but Charrington. Mr Charrington, it seemed, was a widower aged sixty-three and had inhabited this shop for thirty years. Throughout that time he had been intending to alter the name over the window, but had never quite got to the point of doing it."
