The Treasury was a hotel and casino located on 115 E Tropicana Ave off the Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel originally opened in 1973 as a Howard Johnsons. It has been the Paradise Hotel and Casino, the 20th Century, Hooters, the Pacifica and is currently the Oyo. The Treasury was the only place in Las Vegas to be targeted towards the LGBT community. defunct casinos

The shopping center at LV Blvd & Sahara was built in ‘59. There was a grocery store in the center. The 2440 Las Vegas Blvd address was located right across from the location of the Sahara where the now Bonanza Gift Shop stands. The circular board was built around '71 originally for Big Wheel Casino. Then later Centerfolds opened in 1975 and lasted about a year before becoming Jolly Trolley Casino.

Nob Hill was a casino located on 3411 Las Vegas Blvd South, where Casino Royale currently resides on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The casino opened back in 1978, It closed in 1990, to reopen in 1993 as Casino Royale.

He knows that it is he who stands before an altar with magic symbols, and reaches from earth to heaven; that he also walks on a dusty road under a scorching sun to a precipice where a crocodile awaits him; that he dwells with his mate in paradise under the shadow of a blessing genius; that he is chained to a black cube under the shadow of deceit; that he stands as a victor for a moment in an illusionary chariot drawn by sphinxes; and that with a lantern in bright sunshine, he seeks for Truth in a desert.

I felt the breath of the spring, and accompanying the fragrance of violets and lilies-of-the-valley I heard the tender singing of elves. Rivulets murmured, the treetops rustled, the grasses whispered, innumerable birds sang in choruses and bees hummed; everywhere I felt the breathing of joyful, living Nature. In the midst of a green meadow where primroses bloomed, I saw the Empress seated on a throne covered with ivy and lilacs. A green wreath adorned her golden hair and, above her head, shone twelve stars. Behind her rose two snowy wings and in her hands she held a sceptre.

After I learned the first three numbers I was given to understand the Great Law of Four - the alpha and omega of all. I saw the Emperor on a lofty stone throne, ornamented by four rams' heads. On his forehead shone a golden helmet. His white beard fell over a purple mantle. In one hand he held a sphere, the symbol of his possession, and in the other, a sceptre in the form of an Egyptian cross--the sign of his power over birth.

The Big Wheel became the Centerfold Casino from 1975-1977. Their sign advertised "Girls! Girls! Naked But Nice". I'm not quite sure how naked girls were allowed to work in a casino (given the Nevada Gaming Commission's rules prohibiting such a thing). According to some sources, the Centerfold was strictly a 'topless dancing strip-club'

I walked along, absorbed in deep thought, trying to understand the vision of the Angel. And suddenly, as I lifted my head, I saw midway in the sky a huge, revolving circle covered with Kabalistic letters and symbols. The circle turned with terrible velocity, and around it, falling down and flying up, symbolic figures of the serpent and the dog revolved; above it sat an immovable sphinx. In clouds, on the four quarters of heaven, I saw the four apocalyptical beings, one with the face of a lion, another with the face of a bull, the third with a face of an eagle, and the fourth with the face of a bull. And each of them read an open book.

I saw a chariot drawn dy two sphinxes, one white, the other black. Four pillars supported a blue canopy, on which were scattered five-pointed stars. The Conqueror, clad in steel armour, stood under this canopy guiding the sphinxes. He held a sceptre, on the end of which were a globe, a triangle and a square. A golden pentagram sparkled in his crown. On the front of the chariot there was represented a winged sphere and beneath that the symbol of the mystical lingam, signifying the union of two principles.

The Park was a 406-room hotel and casino located on 200 North Main Street near Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. The hotel originally opened in 1978 as the Holiday International and became the Park in 1987 after three years of the hotel being closed due to a hotel strike. The hotel was owned by Japanese investor Katsuki Manabe. It later closed in 1990 after being bought by Bob Snow to become Main Street Station.

The California Club operated from 1958 to 1973. Phil Long took over operation of the casino located at the corner of First and Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, 1958.[1] The locals casino catered to local gamblers. Vegas World was a space-themed casino and hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was owned and operated by Bob Stupak, and was also signed as Bob Stupak's Vegas World. Stupak initially opened a small casino, Bob Stupak's World Famous Million-Dollar Historic Gambling Museum and Casino, on the property in 1974, but it was destroyed in a fire later that year. Tropicana Ave’s 20th Century was only around for a couple of years, before becoming The Treasury, which was also around only a couple of years. 20th Century was one of a half-dozen short-lived names used by the hotel at 115 E Tropicana, ‘72: Howard Johnson Hotel. ‘75: Paradise Hotel & Casino. '77: 20th Century Hotel & Casino. '79: The Treasury. '85: Pacifica Hotel (no casino). '85: Polynesian Hotel. '89: Hotel San Remo. 2006: Hooters.

The settlement of Las Vegas, Nevada was founded in 1905 after the opening of a railroad that linked Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Urbanization took off in 1931 when work started on the Boulder Dam (now the Hoover Dam), bringing a huge influx of young male workers, for whom theaters and casinos were built, largely by the Mafia. Electricity from the dam also enabled the building of many new hotels along the Strip. The arrival of Howard Hughes in 1966 did much to offset mob influence and helped turn Las Vegas into more of a family tourist center, now classified as a Mega resort. defunct casino

Coin Castle was a casino located where La Bayou is today on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The casino was last owned by Herb Pastor and opened on 1970. The castle-themed casino later closed in 1999 to be renovated into the La Bayou, which lasted until 2016. During it's history, people would sometimes be given personalized key rings, gambling horoscopes, free wine, and more. When the casino closed in 1999, neon letters, coins, and a statue of a king that once stood over the casino, were all donated to the Neon Museum, and can all now be seen in the main boneyard.
