Description: The first Skate King opened in Bellevue, Washington the day after Thanksgiving in 1974. Skate King Burien opened in 1975 followed by Tacoma in 1976 and Kirkland in 1977. In 1979, Skate King Kent opened and then in in 1980 they opened two centers in eastern Washington - Kennewick and Spokane. Over the years roller skating died off and as such, Skate King began closing locations over the years and before you knew it, the original Bellevue location was the last one standing until it too met it's end in 2015.
Description: A roller disco is a discotheque or skating rink where all the dancers wear roller skates. The music played is modern and easily danceable, historically disco but in the post disco era, almost any form of dance, pop or rock music was used. The roller disco concept originated as a fad in the '70s when the disco craze was at its height, peaking around 1980 and inspiring several roller-disco magazines. Roller disco experienced a mild revival in the early 2000s, where certain clubs began hosting roller disco nights. Just like with in other discos, special effects such as fog machines and flashing traffic lights are often used.
Description: Disco Inferno is a song by American disco band the Trammps from their 1976 fourth studio album of the same name. With two other cuts by the group, it reached number-one on the US Dance Club Charts in early '77, but had limited mainstream success until 1978, after being included on the soundtrack to the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever.
