Description: An Arrakis spice-harvester safety board depicts the worst possible emergency protection: a shield that summons the very worm the crew is trying to escape. The huge tracked spice crawler occupies the technical hero drawing, with three pictorial instructions for detecting wormsign and reaching an evacuation ornithopter. The forbidden mark crosses out a shield bubble around the crawler while a giant sandworm turns directly toward it. The device-to-worm attraction, not a generic 'beware of worms' message, is the core visual joke.
Description: Original design I did recently! Dune! Is a 1965 epic science fiction novel by American author Frank Herbert. Set in the distant future amidst a feudal interstellar society in which noble houses, in control of individual planets, owe allegiance to the Padishah Emperor, Dune tells the story of young Paul Atreides, whose noble family accepts the stewardship of the desert planet Arrakis. As this planet is the only source of the “spice” melange, the most important and valuable substance in the universe, control of Arrakis is coveted.
