The Jacob's Ladder design is inspired by the original 1990 psychological horror movie directed by Adrian Lyne and written by Bruce Joel Rubin. Tim Robbins stars as Jacob Singer, a Vietnam vet, now working as a postal worker, whose life begins to slip out of control as he experiences bizarre flashbacks of his earlier life and terrifying hallucinations. A cult classic, Jacob's Ladder also starred Elizabeth Pena, Danny Aiello and a very young Macauley Culkin.
