Probably the most ugly modern building in Leeds City Centre. (I am entitled to hold this opinion being a Planning Officer of the City Council). I spent a day recently walking the streets of Leeds taking shots and even though I think this is the worst example of modern architecture in Leeds, (others do come a close second), I was still compelled to take some shots of it. However I was loathed to post any as they just represented this monstrosity in all its gory (no that is not a spelling mistake). Anyway I trialled Topaz Labs Glow filter and played about with a couple of the pre-sets. I could not choose which effect I liked the best so I blended them together using layers and changing the blending mode in Photoshop. Canon 70...

Standing underneath the bridge over the Kennet and Avon Canal at Hungerford, looking westwards to the Wharf. This was captured on a fine morning in late November. Ducks are gathered here as it's a favourite place to be fed! This is very near the centre of the town - its wide, tree-lined high street famous for its antique shops. Here at the Wharf it was once a hive of industry with boats loading and unloading their cargoes. Now it's a peaceful place to sit - and feed the ducks!

In the heart of Whidbey Island, the red Coupeville Wharf is a charming and historic destination. Originally built around 1900 as a grain wharf, this lovely pier and red building currently houses a coffee shop, restaurants, kayak rental, marine services, gift stores, and a museum. If you visit Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, you might want to include this lovely wharf on your destination list. There's a small adjacent park where people picnic, paint the wharf, and enjoy the variable PNW weather.

A century ago, it was an endless beehive of activity, welcoming sailing ships bringing cargo from around the world, and departing with holds filled with cotton and naval stores. Today, the Old Savannah Wharf and River Street sit peacefully as an historic destination under a dramatic early morning sky as its successor, the Port of Savannah, lights the Savannah River under the Talmadge Bridge.

A row boat is docked and tied to a private wharf near the coastal waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Digital illustration I created using Ciorel Painter 2017 & my Wacom Intuos 3 tablet/ Photoshop used for cropping and color correction. Reference source was a photo I took several years ago.

Canary Wharf is an area of London, England, located on the Isle of Dogs in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Canary Wharf is defined by the Greater London Authority as being part of London's central business district, alongside Central London.

The city of San Francisco has acquired a large group of vintage trolleys. They are operated and maintained by the San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni), a service of SFMTA. Number 1061 was purchased from the city of Newark, New Jersey, the city from where I hail. It was a great thrill to ride the trolley car again.

Next to the Globe Theater is a humble dwelling labeled Cardinal's Wharf. Though Christopher Wren probably never slept here, the home is a vestige of what Bankside used to be and the crooked door a testament to the history it did see.

The setting sun casts a warm light over a wharf and shed used by local fishermen.
