Written by Kris Kristofferson and Monument Records founder Fred Foster, Me And Bobby McGee is a country music classic and has been recorded numerous times sine the 1960's including Kristofferson himself, Roger Miller, Kenny Rogers, and, perhaps most famously, Janis Joplin. The song is the story of two drifters hitching a ride from a diesel locomotive driver and singing as they drive through the American South.
