Arcadia University Tapestries

The Arcadia University Castle is also known as the Grey Towers Castle. The Castle was completed in 1898 and in October 1985, was declared a National Historic Landmark.

The Grey Towers Castle at Arcadia University is a National Historic Landmark located in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Construction on the castle was completed in 1898 and was privately owned until 1929 when Arcadia University purchased it from the William Welsh Harrison family.

The clock tower at Murphy Hall on the Arcadia University campus is an area landmark. Located at the south end of the Arcadia University campus, the clock tower can be seen from anywhere on campus. Murphy Hall started out as a stable on a privately owned estate.

Arcadia University was founded in 1853 and was known as Beaver Female Seminary. The name was changed to Beaver College in 1872. Grey Towers Castle was built in 1898 and is a National Historic Landmark.
