Description: The world's first production amphibious all-terrain vehicle (AATV) is generally considered to be the Jiger, developed by John Gower of Toronto and first marketed in 1960. While Jiger went bankrupt in 1968, Hugh Thompson of Orillia, Ontairio, had been working on his own design for an AATV. Orillia's OTACO Corp. was impressed with Hugh's design and bought the rights to produce it, calling it the 'Bazooo.' Powered by a Curtis Wright 225 cc 12.5 horsepower air-cooled engine driving all six wheels, the Bazooo was capable of traversing all kinds of terrain and was fully amphibious, making it a true all-terrain vehicle.
