Aurochs Tapestries
Description: This block print design is based on the famous paleolithic cave art from the Lascaux Caves. The animal depicted here is an aurochs, a type of now extinct wild cattle. To create this I first hand-carved, then printed, my own block carving of this design then scanned the print. The textures you see actually come from the fabric which I printed on-- so cool!
Description: Meet the mighty Aurochs, (Bos primigenius), the massive wild ancestor of all modern domestic cattle. This vintage natural-history inspired design celebrates the strength and wild spirit of this remarkable animal, while honoring its place in history with an aged engraved aesthetic and the reminder: GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. Part of the Extinct Collection, created to remember extraordinary animals that once shared our world. 🐂🌿🖤
