Description: Spot-Bilt was an American footwear company founded in 1898 that would eventually become an up-and-coming men’s athletic shoe brand, primarily with runners. The brand saw steady growth through the '70s and early '80s, but put a cap on their ceiling by initially opting to only manufacture in the United States and foregoing endorsements deals with professional athletes. Despite having a solid fan base on their own, by the time they did come around to jumping on the endorsement bandwagon, that ship had sailed, and it was too little too late to save the brand.
