Description: Birmingham's WAPI launched on December 1, 1947 as WAFM, and spent most of its time on air as varying forms of adult contemporary. After a sale in 1980, WAPI switched formats in August 1981 to become Birmingham's second album rock station under the new name of '95 Rock.' During the mid '80s, Top 40 regained popularity, and in 1984, the album rock format was dropped in favor of Top 40. First calling itself '95 FM,' by the end of the year, it was re-launched as 'I-95,' billing itself as 'Birmingham's Hit Rock.' Within a year, I-95 became the dominant Top 40 station in Birmingham.

Description: The Birmingham Athletics (A’s) were the Class AA farm club of the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics from 1967 to 1975. The Southern League ballclub was owned directly by Oakland’s colorful, spendthrift owner Charles O. Finley. The Athletics had a phenomenal farm system in the late 1960’s and many of the great ballplayers from Oakland’s 1972-1974 World Series dynasty spent time in Birmingham on their way up the developmental ladder.

Thomas Shelby is the head of the company, while his Second-In-Command is Polly Gray, who was previously the Deputy Treasurer. Michael Gray is the Chief Accountant while Lizzie Stark is the Deputy Treasurer. Before his death, John Shelby sealed the books, both legal and off-track. While a thriving company, the company was set up in hopes of turning all of Peaky Blinder business legal above-ground.
