Blue Point Tapestries

The Cattle Jetty, Observation Point, Point Nepean, Portsea, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. Little remains of the Cattle Jetty, nor the associated stock quarantine station, that was added to the quarantine facilities at Point Nepean in 1879. Now just one section of the jetty remains and another section was washed away recently. The jetty is surrounded by drift wood that has been washed up around the structure. This morning some photographers told me that the second structure had recently been washed away, so i decided to go and check it out for myself.

The old Cattle Jetty was built in 1879 to land cattle at the Point Nepean Quarantine station just inside Port Phillip Bay. Point Nepean marks the southern point of The Rip (the entrance to Port Phillip) and the most westerly point of the Mornington Peninsula, in Victoria, Australia.

This is an image of the open, outer gallery on the south side of the Angkor Wat temple. The temple is enormous. Although we were there with many hundreds of others, it wasn't difficult to find incredible views, such as this, without another person in sight. Although the temple was built about 900 years ago, it is a remarkable testament to its builders in that it remains an incredible architectural masterpiece today. It is an awe inspiring experience to walk through the complex, one that I won't forget. What I love about this image is the incredible depth; the vanishing point at the far end. Think of the engineering required to build something so straight all those years ago.

I like this closer view of the Three Sisters & how this view has them sitting on tufts of a grass-like plant, backed by the blue of the mountains & framed to the right by Mt Solitary & a small sapling with white flowers. A beautiful sister vista from a former sister resistor. This is the Three Sisters at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains National Park of Australia, famous for it's unique geological formation.

This rocky outcrop is the end of the famous Three Sisters at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. I always liked the photo, but it was after a bit of glossing up with a program called SyncUp that it took on an extra dimension .. a change in exposure, colour temperature, etc. I love the jigsaw of trees & bushes sprinkled around the rocks.
