Description: Upon waking, I witnessed the beastly entity. It walked with a stoop, for its prodigious height was too much for my darkened bedroom. Of it's appearance I could only see so much, for upon its hideously malformed body it wore a dirty bed linen as if it was taking on the guise of a departed spirit in some grotesque jest. But it was not a spirit, for I could hear it's heavy footfalls on the floor. Quietly signalling for me to be silent, it lumbered out of my bedroom. It seemed it desired to visit the room across the hall instead, and had stumbled upon mine in error. I pray it does not return.
Description: "Baba Yaga" is a well-known character from Slavic folklore. In the folk tales, Baba Yaga is portrayed as a witch who lives in a house standing on chicken legs, deep within a forest. The name "Baba Yaga" can be translated roughly. "Baba" is a somewhat pejorative term meaning "old woman" or "grandmother" in many Slavic languages. "Yaga" is less clear, but it may relate to the word for "horror," "anger," or "wickedness."
