"It's one of those nostalgia places, but not done very well." Cafe 80s was a nostalgia restaurant located in Hill Valley on Courthouse Square in 2015 to remind the citizens of Hill Valley in the 1980s. The café was located on the site formerly occupied by Lou's Aerobic Fitness Center in 1985, Lou's Café in 1955, a soup kitchen in 1931, and the Palace Saloon in 1885, and what would become that of the Bistro Twenty/15 in 2035.

Goldie Wilson was the Mayor of Hill Valley in 1985, and had been since 1977. His 1985 re-election campaign ads promised more jobs, better education, bigger civic improvements, and lower taxes. The slogan on his printed ads was Honesty / Decency / Integrity. He had a gold tooth when he was a young man, although there is a disagreement as to whether he still had a gold tooth thirty years later, when he was running for re-election.

Hill Valley is a fictional town in California that serves as the setting of the Back to the Future trilogy and its animated spin-off series. In the trilogy, Hill Valley is seen in four different time periods – 1885, 1955, 1985, and 2015 – as well as in a dystopian alternate 1985.[1] The films contain many sight gags, verbal innuendos and detailed set design elements, from which a detailed and consistent history of the area can be derived. The city name "Hill Valley" is a joke, being an oxymoron. However, an early script for Back to the Future Part II mentioned that Hill Valley was named after its founder, William "Bill" Hill.
