Description: The 1984 Caravan marked a turning point in American family transportation, introducing the modern minivan to the market alongside its sibling, the Voyager. Built on a front-wheel-drive platform, the Caravan offered a lower step-in height, car-like handling, and a spacious, versatile interior that appealed to growing suburban families. Its boxy design maximized cargo and passenger space, while features like removable rear seating made it adaptable for both daily errands and road trips. Initially powered by a modest four-cylinder engine, with an optional V6, the Caravan prioritized practicality over performance. It was a truly revolutionary vehicle, and its success was immediate and lasting, helping its Detroit manufacturer regain solvency.
