Description: An original piece from the series “Zi hua”: I wanted to learn to write Chinese characters, but I've lost control! I have always been fascinated by the art of ideograms, and when I was in China I spent hours and hours, enchanted to observe people trying to dip the brush into water, and to draw on the ground ephemeral signs intended to evaporate, with controlled and sensual movements. But my nature is baroque! The gesture that I started cannot be stopped, the hand begins to draw on the paper some convolutions, scrolls and doodles, at first timid, but soon prevailing over the same character and its meaning! And the gesture that remains, even if free and decorative, is extremely rewarding for me!
Description: This design does not work effectively on a dark background. White is recommended. Mao Zedong or Mao Tse-tung, also known as Chairman Mao, was a Chinese communist revolutionary, poet, political theorist and founding father of the People's Republic of China - and he was sometimes a jovial chap.
Description: Have a white friend that loves Chinese characters but will never look them up? Maybe they have a regrettable tattoo that they think means 'hope' or 'free spirit'. This may be the perfect shirt/mug/wall hanging for them! Literally 'Ghost Man', Gweilo is a common (sometimes derogatory) Cantonese term for white people.
Description: Chinese Zodiac Rooster. Roosters are complex people who seem strong but, deep down, need validation from loved ones. Years of the Rooster are: 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029. A unique zodiac design is a nice birthday gift for young and old, for men, women and kids.
Description: This flowing circular design features a flowing Chinese dragon. The body of the serpent snakes around from the top of the pattern down to the swirling tail. Four large claws extend from the body of the dragon creating an aggressive yet elegant stance. This beautiful pattern is a stylish take on the traditional Chinese dragon.
