Tribute doodle to my favorite hero of all time!

A lone spectator contemplates the beauty that is the Grand Canyon, in this view from Bright Angel Point. The gray off in the distance is, as told by a ranger, 3 fires started by lightning the evening before. This was taken around 10 AM on August 11, 2014. By 1:30 PM the monsoon storms reformed and doused the flames. The following day the entire canyon was filled with clouds, disappointing many tourists that stopped by for only one day. This image was made from 11 stitched shots from a Pentax 645Z.

Mornings are for Coffee and Contemplation

I have always lived at high elevations. At 14,000 feet I breath deeper and feel the strain. People who are not acclimated to these elevations often need supplemental oxygen. Getting here takes time. In June the snow below the summit is more than ten feed deep. Watch your step the rocks, snow and ice can be tricky. Rocky Mountain Goats live here year round. They move about the rocks, snow and ice with ease.
