PERSONALITY CONTRASTS: Alienating or Oversharing

Why is this called Contrasts? This is part of a series of images I am working on in an attempt to highlight the plight of the homeless on the streets, principally of the UK as that is where I am from, but essentially anywhere in the world. The contrasts? The guy sitting on the floor is homeless, I know I chatted to him. The people standing are at the ATM drawing out money. Yes the guy sitting on the floor has strategically positioned himself but nevertheless, there is a contrast here both in the picture and in society itself. I am part of that society and I am blessed to be part of the society that would fall into the definition of "haves" rather than that of the "have not's" and I am grateful to my God for that. Athabasca Falls is a hugely popular summer destination, with its intense falls crashing into the gorge and leaving visitors in awe. While the falls were barely running when we visited in early March, I found the contrasts of winter just as impressive; the dark walls of the gorge against the pale blue skies above, and the deep aquamarine of the water with the white blanket of snow surrounding it. It's a place I will stop at time and again, no matter what time of year it is.

I'm celebrating the human capacity to make meaningful marks. When I inked these marks I felt the energy of writing something in my journal, or a note for someone absent. Without thinking words I made the image more universal and left the message to your imagination. What does this memo say to you?
