He is best known for his masterpiece The Divine Comedy, which presents an encyclopedic overview of the mores, attitudes, beliefs, philosophies, aspirations, and material aspects of the medieval world. The Divine Comedy is divided into three sections: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso.
