Defend Liberty Tapestries
Description: American War Paint - Defend Liberty Protect Constitution "American War Paint" is a bold portrait series from Puff Sumo confronting what it means to defend liberty in the modern era. This piece renders the American flag not as decoration but as war paint — stars and stripes streaked across a warrior's face, with the words of the Constitution woven into the stripes themselves. It's a visual argument: the fight to protect freedom, democracy, and constitutional rights isn't history, it's happening now. Part protest art, part portraiture, this design speaks to anyone who believes liberty has to be actively defended, not just inherited. Wear it as a statement of resistance, patriotism, and civic resolve. From the American War Paint collection by

Description: Liberty Bell: Let Freedom Ring save Democracy — “Let Freedom Ring” becomes a visual siren in an age of civic outrage. The Liberty Bell, once a proud emblem of independence, now tolls with a fractured voice for a democracy slipping away. Bold typography—SAVE DEMOCRACY stacked like a barricade, Let Freedom Ring rendered in fragile serif—reads less as celebration, more as plea. In a nation reeling from indictments, partisan courts, and voter suppression, the cracked bell mirrors a fractured republic. Not nostalgia, but protest. Not memory, but demand.
Description: This timeless design features one of Theodore Roosevelt’s most powerful quotes: “Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.” A perfect reminder that true patriotism is about defending principles, not personalities. Printed with a distressed American flag and the Statue of Liberty, this shirt celebrates independent thought, civic courage, and love of country over blind loyalty. Ideal for veterans, educators, activists, and anyone who believes democracy works best when citizens hold power to account.

Description: Eyes of Liberty American War Paint Portrait "American War Paint: Eyes of Liberty" is a close-up confrontation — a face painted in flag and Constitution, eyes locked forward, unflinching. Where the wider portraits in this series show the full weight of the flag as armor, this piece zooms in on resolve itself: the look of someone who has decided liberty is worth defending, no matter the cost. It's protest art distilled to a stare. For anyone who believes democracy isn't self-sustaining — that it has to be actively protected, generation after generation — this design speaks without needing more than a face and a gaze. From the American War Paint collection by Puff Sumo.
Description: We The People War Paint Constitution Portrait (Dark Version) "American War Paint: Face of the Republic" puts the words "We The People" front and center — literally painted across the brow of a warrior wearing the flag as his own skin. This is the most direct piece in the series: the Constitution isn't background texture here, it's the headline. Symmetrical, front-facing, unflinching — this design argues that the preamble's promise belongs to everyone willing to defend it. A striking piece of political art for anyone who believes civic responsibility is a form of patriotism, not a slogan. Part of the American War Paint collection by Puff Sumo, exploring what it means to protect liberty today.

Description: Call To Liberty American War Paint Poster "American War Paint: Call To Liberty" channels the visual language of a classic recruiting poster — direct eye contact, bold two-tone type, stripes running dead-center down the face like a call to attention. This isn't nostalgia for its own sake; it reframes the old poster form around a modern message: liberty and the Constitution need defenders again, right now. Where earlier pieces in the series lean into shadow or resolve, this one is a straightforward call to action, unmistakable at a glance. Striking on a wall or a shirt, this design speaks to anyone who believes protecting democracy is everyone's job. Part of the American War Paint collection by
Description: Donald Trump is back in office—and so is the growing threat of authoritarianism disguised as patriotism. This bold “Anti-Authoritarianism Is Pro-American” design is for those who refuse to stay quiet while democracy is undermined. Standing against authoritarian leaders—even when they're in power—isn’t anti-American. It’s the most patriotic thing you can do. Wear this if you believe in freedom of speech, voting rights, and resisting political strongmen—because silence is compliance, and real patriots speak up. Veterans Against Trump
Description: I have a lot of designs that promote freedom of expression, anti-censorship, free speech, and the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. But I wanted to do something that emphasized freedom of the press since Trump has amped up his virulent attack on it and even individual reporters as evidenced by his recent rant at the White House Correspondence dinner so unbecoming of a U.S. President. He does not hide his hatred of democracy anymore, and we must all fight back if we want to keep it - let alone make it better.
Description: Take a stand with "Fight Oligarchy & Defend Democracy" – a bold statement against corruption and unchecked power. Perfect for activists, protesters, and advocates for social and economic justice. Show your resistance to oligarchs, corporate greed, and political manipulation while supporting a future where democracy thrives!
