Pastel light on the Sand Dunes of Death Valley National Park in early Springtime

This is the vista from the lodge at Jackson Lake in the Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, The lodge sits on higher ground than the plain between the lodge and the mountains. It was a changeable sort of day, which provided fairly heavy, dramatic-looking clouds, over the Grand Teton mountains in the distance. The vast plain before us is, I assume, the remains of what was a large lake back at the time of the last ice age. Today, its vastness is covered in golden-brown plant life, and, we were told, an array of large mammal life. Alas, they must have been shy that day but the vista remained magnificent.

Waiting For Someone To Love This bench seat with no one sat on it is really poignant in these Covid times. Here in the UK and I'm sure most other places we have not been allowed to go to the park and socialise with our friends or even our own family. So this lone bench would be the same the world over.
