Roughly a hundred years in the future humanity's salvation lies in the frozen alien oceans of Enceladus, one of Saturn's moons. The cluthonic seas hide dark reflections of reality for the mission crew, bizarre lifeforms, and disaster.

When the Sun comes up the geysers of water vapour that erupt from the surface are more visible. Enceladus is mostly covered by fresh, clean ice, which is 91% water vapour.

The discovery of Enceladus' icy jets and their role in creating Saturn's E-ring is one of the top findings of the Cassini mission to Saturn. Further Cassini mission discoveries revealed strong evidence of a global ocean and the first signs of potential hydrothermal activity beyond Earth – making this tiny Saturnian moon one of the leading locations in the search for possible life beyond Earth.

Enceladus polar geysers. Cassini image of the geyser basin at the south pole of Enceladus, one of the moons of the planet Saturn. This view shows the geysers visible in sunlight nearly 1.5 years after the autumnal equinox in the Saturnian system. Enceladus is one of the smaller moons of Saturn, with a diameter of around 505 kilometres. Plumes of water, hydrocarbons and other chemicals jet outwards from its surface. This surface is thought to be water ice over liquid water, a possible location for life in the Solar System outside Earth. Cassini flew through the plumes in October 2015. The Cassini spacecraft surveyed the Saturnian system from 2004 to 2017. This image was obtained by the narrow angle camera on 30 November 2010.

The deep space attack cruiser Orpheus easily slipped into Saturn planet-space among the rings and moons of the giant. As it's orb-like sublight drive whirred to a stop the crew prepared for their decent into the icy seas of the moon, Enceladus. Just a little piece, playing a lot of the new Gearbox game lately and trying to push my combination of 3d and 2d and bring in a bright energetic funkiness into the work. Maybe a little too, Lisa Frank color scheme... : )
