Description: "Flying Egret in a Clear Sky" I had been watching several Reddish Egrets, both the dark morph like this one and a white morph, wading in the wetlands at Charlie's Pasture Preserve. This one was finished with the mingling and took flight over the boardwalk I was walking. Photographed in Port Aransas, Texas. ©Debra Martz, All Rights Reserved In My Collection: "Feathered Friends" 20251018-DSC_9267 AI Text: A Reddish Egret gracefully soars through a clear blue sky, its wings spread wide. The sunlight highlights the bird's detailed plumage.
Description: Seagull Soaring Low by Debra Martz There were hundreds of seagulls on the bay this early morning, most at the shoreline near the bird blind. I spotted this Ringed-bill Gull as it was nearing thinking it was going to land with all the others but it just soared on by just above the water. Those rows of softly blurred "dots" are a variety of ducks on the water. Image captured at the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma on a winter morning. ©Debra Martz, All Rights Reserved In My Gallery/Collection: "Feathered Friends" 20241210-DSC_2779
Description: I was initially worried about the level of detail in this piece, with all the feathers being the right formation and colour tones, but with some layering and switching my pointer brush to a flat head, I found an easy and effective approach to the feathers. I enjoyed this piece and I think I'll try and do another Owl painting soon.
