Frozen Water Tapestries
Description: I love when I find something to photograph that can trick the eye. This is the canal surface on a winter morning in Glasgow. It's all frozen up but from this angle, I could capture the reflection of the colourful waterside buildings to almost make it look like an oil painting!
Description: A humorous winter scene depicts an ice fishing tent on a snowy surface, surrounded by an ice hole. A fishing rod is poised with a line leading to a fish being reeled in. The text "OF COURSE OUR RODS ARE SHORT" is at the top, and "IT'S FREEZING OUT HERE" is at the bottom, all in distressed white and blue lettering.
Description: A monochrome composition with white text and light blue accents against a black background. The text "DRILL IT TILL IT SQUIRTS" is presented in large, dripping letters. To the right, a silhouette of a person ice fishing, seated on an ice block beside a drilled hole in the water.
Description: A sequence of four panels showing an anthropomorphic ice cube's transformation. The top panel depicts a happy, solid ice cube. Subsequent panels show it melting and looking increasingly distressed, with the final panel showing only a puddle and a dripping drop of water. The text "Fig. 1: Life is really short." is present at the bottom.
Description: Not one of your typical four earth elements, but this was the first design I came up with that inspired the others. I could not decide if it looked more like a sun or a snowflake, so there is a "light" version over in the collection. If you're looking for a different element or the set pieces, check out the collection "Elements of Music" in my shop.
