Description: Tutankhamun - Lord Carnarvon Egyptian Expedition of 1922 was a pivotal archaeological mission led by British Egyptologist Howard Carter, funded by the 5th Earl of Carnarvon, George Herbert. The expedition focused on the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt, where Carter and Carnarvon sought to uncover previously undiscovered royal tombs. Carter’s team discovered a flight of steps leading to a sealed doorway marked with cartouches—hieroglyphic symbols indicating a royal name. The tomb, belonging to the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun, was remarkably intact.
