A Portrait of Geesje A day ago I experimented with Art Graf. I was quite surprized and therefor I thought it would be nice to do a portrait of Geesje Kwak. There are only some odd 15 pictures of her taken by Breitner. Well, there could be more lingering about in archives. There were only a couple of them that were not related to his kimono series and one of them was ‘en profile’. Quite grainly and damaged but still usable, I guess. I must say, I just love those updo hair styles because they come in angles. That automatically opens a door to cubism, my favourite realm to dwell in. New Goodies At Brugman Art where I also teach, I bought myself a nice thick exquisite Kolinsky sabre brush and a white Art Graf chalk to broaden my ran...

Just a great original design!

Took this shot back in 2009 in the corridor outside my studio in Hibernian House. Pretty sure the paste-up is by Ben Frost, I think it may have been a part of Paste Modernism (the first one), when a bunch of artists pasted all the stairwells and corridors. Transformed the building. Bits of this one are still there now. At that time lots of power points in the building got painted gold. As antique as this fitting is, the power is live.

Gruyère is a hard Swiss cheese that originated in the cantons of Fribourg, Vaud, Neuchâtel, Jura, and Berne in Switzerland. It is named after the town of Gruyères in Fribourg. In 2001, Gruyère gained the appellation d'origine contrôlée, which became the appellation d'origine protégée as of 2013. Graf French Gruyère was a brand of the popular cheese that was made in France throughout the '30s and '40s.
