According to Wikipedia, Western is a genre of fiction set primarily in the latter half of the 19th century in the Western United States, which is styled the “Old West”. Its stories commonly center on the life of a nomadic cowboy or gunfighter, armed with a revolver and a rifle who rides a horse. Cowboys and gunslingers typically wear Stetson hats, neckerchief bandannas, vests, spurs, cowboy boots and buckskins (alternatively dusters). Recurring characters include the aforementioned cowboys, Native Americans, Spaniards, Mexicans, bandits, lawmen, bounty hunters, outlaws, gamblers, soldiers (especially mounted cavalry, such as buffalo soldiers) and settlers (farmers, ranchers and townsfolk). This image gives credit to that great era.

Memories of the days of steam railways! An old station handcart loaded with odd bits and pieces found under a shelter in a corner of a platform at the GWR Railway Centre at Didcot, Oxfordshire.

Engine 2857 was built in Swindon in 1918 and was in service until 1963. This class of engine (2800) was responsible for hauling most of the long distance heavy freight trains on the GWR / BR western region for almost 60 years!
