Description: 1846 Donner Party Tragedy - 87 pioneers moved west to settle in the California Territory. In their attempt to cross the treacherous Sierra Nevada Mountains, they became snowbound and trapped in the mountains. Supplies dwindled, people died of exposure, and in a couple cases murder. Soon their food supplies were gone, they began eating shoe leather, Ox hide, and livestock bones. Soon that was gone, then came the grisly decision to eat their dead. Of the 87 members of this party only 48 were rescued.
Description: This beautiful midnight landscape design features the flowing script text "Lake of Shining Waters" beneath a glowing crescent moon and stars. The atmospheric oval illustration depicts a small wooden rowboat floating on the calm reflecting water near a cozy shoreline house surrounded by evergreen pine trees and red wildflowers. Capturing the imaginative romanticism of L.M. Montgomery's classic public domain novel Anne of Green Gables, this moody woodcut aesthetic print sets a peaceful bedtime tone. It is a brilliant gift for dreamers, night owls, and fans of cozy nature art.
