he St. Augustine Light Station is a privately maintained aid to navigation and an active, working lighthouse in St. Augustine, Florida. The location is the subject of numerous ghost stories and supernatural legends, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum offers tickets for a number of "Dark of the Moon" ghost tours and ghost-themed private events to the public. According to ghost hunters, the lighthouse and surrounding buildings have a history of paranormal activity. The lighthouse has been featured in episodes of the Syfy television series Ghost Hunters, and also on the paranormal TV program My Ghost Story.

The St. Augustine Lighthouse in Florida welcomes over 216,000 visitors annually, but it is equally renowned for its spectral inhabitants. Numerous tragic events in the lighthouse's history have given rise to reports of otherworldly occurrences. The ghostly figure of a lighthouse keeper, who met his untimely demise while painting the tower, is said to keep a vigilant watch over the premises. Additionally, since the heart-wrenching tragedy that claimed the lives of three young girls, who drowned when the cart they were playing in broke and plunged into the ocean, visitors have reported hearing the playful laughter and sounds of children echoing in and around the lighthouse.

A lighthouse haunted by a ghost

The Fog is a 1980 American supernatural horror film directed by John Carpenter, who also co-wrote the screenplay and created the music for the film. It stars Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Atkins, Janet Leigh and Hal Holbrook. It tells the story of a strange, glowing fog that sweeps over a small coastal town in California, bringing with it the vengeful ghosts of mariners who were killed in a shipwreck there 100 years before.

Built in 1808 and decommissioned in 1958, The Gibraltar Point Lighthouse on the Toronto Islands is the oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes and is one of the oldest buildings in the city. Local legend tells of John Paul Radelmuller, the first of Gibraltar Points keepers and beer bootlegger. Radelmuller was murdered by soldiers from nearby Fort York during a drunken dispute over his bootlegged beer. His body was chopped up and hidden by the soldiers. It is said that Mr. Radelmuller can still sometimes be seen walking the grounds of the lighthouse.
