Description: Portrait of music legend, Louis Daniel Armstrong, nicknamed "Satchmo", "Satch", and "Pops". One of music's all time greats, and one of my childhood idols. Growing up my parents thought making it was being a musician, and I took private music lessons in Saxophone and Clarinet, along with my two brothers. This portrait was created approximately 1980 while I was attending the School of Visual Arts,, painted in oil paint on stretched canvas. and digitally cleaned up in photoshop.
